Fire Prevention Coloring
Books Out of all the things we can teach kids,
fire prevention and fire safety is one of the most
important. Our children learn about fire safety at
school, but it is also necessary to reinforce that
knowledge at home on a regular basis. Here is an
overview of some of the key principles of fire
safety. The single most important point is to always use smoke detectors. Contrary to popular belief, most people who die in fires actually die from smoke inhalation, not from fire itself. That is why it's important to have a smoke detector on over floor of your home and near every sleeping area. It's important to have as much of a warning as possible. But it is very very important to check every smoke detector at least once each month to double check that they are working properly. And even though the smoke detector may still currently work, make sure to put in new batteries at least once a year to avoid surprise outages. A second crticial aspect of fire safety is having a family escape plan. necessary to have a home escape plan as well. The main slogan is "Be Prepared." Draw up a floor plan of your home, and select at least 2 possible escape paths for every room. That way if one route is blocked, you can use your second route as an alternative. It is very important to select a meeting place outside of your home and at a safe distance, and to teach your kids not to leave the meeting place for any reason, and to never go back into the house. A third critical aspect of fire safety is that children should never ever pay with fire. Only grownups are allowed to use matches and cigarette lighters. Adults should do their best to keep them out of the reach of children. They should also avoid throwing things into the fireplace or touching lit candles. Those are a small number of the most important fire safety principles that kids have to understand. But there are definitely others as well. You can definitely contact your local municipal authorities and fire department for more more-ranging information. There are also many online resources available. | What Countries Does Gold Come From?
|
Where is gold found?
Gold is a famous metal that affects all of our lives, but all of us have at some time or another wondered where gold is from. The top source of gold in the world over the last 120 years has been The Witwatersrand basin in South Africa. Also known as "The Rand", it has been the source of 40% of the gold found during this time period. A large portion of the world's unmined gold is thought to remain there, with some scientists suggesting the portion is up to one third. Especially the state of Nevada which is the top producer within the US, but also states such as California, Alaska, and Colorado. Next after the USA is Australia, the third most prolific gold producer in the world. The most massive open air mine in Australia is the "Super Pit" gold mine near Kalgoorie a settlement in the Goldfields Esperance area, and stretches over 8 square kilometers. It is an amazing sight to see. The 3 nations mentioned above have been the largest producers of gold during the last century or more. Other nations like Australia, Canada, and the USA actually have more gold reserves than China does. But the cheaper cost of workers and of production in China, as well as increases in the degree of foreign investment in China, have increased China's production rate to be greater than that of countries with more natural resources including gold reserves. | The Lasting Influence and Effects of the UK's Imperial Era

The Lingering Effects of The British
Empire The UK (United Kingdom, also known as Great Britain and Northern Ireland) is a country lying off the coast of Europe, with the English Channel being the only thing between them. The United Kingdom is an influencial country because of a lot of different factors, including the size of its economy, its status as a former colonial power, and its continuing strength on the world scene. Both the population and population density of the UK are quite high, with 61 million people crammed into quite a small land mass. The country has the sixth-largest economy in the world. Along with the economic system of the UK, its culture has also spread, with English now being the dominant global lingua franca, and football (aka soccer) now being the most cherished sport around the globe. English literature originating in Britain is studied by students all over the world and loved by countless others. The UK has had such a huge impact on the world because of its former empire and status as colonial power around the world. The British Empire was the largest one in history, amounting up to 25 % of the Earth's lad surface area.Still today, the UK holds onto fourteen territories overseas, that are remnants of the British Empire. It holds a permanent UN Security Council seat. However, today the UK plays second fiddle to the United States and its empire, backing them up on most foreign policy issues such as the war in Iraq. Despite its low number of personnel, the British military is strong. In addition to possessing nuclear weapons, the UK is a member of the strategic NATO alliance. The United Kingdom may no longer be a huge empire directly controlling twenty five percent of the world, but it continues to have influence over the world, both in terms of culture and politics. This is likely to remain the status quo for the forseeable future. Aztec Adam is an avid traveler with a deep interest in geography and culture. His blog Free Printable Maps features country profiles with maps such as this UK map showing counties. |

Israeli Travel Sites Israel is a thrilling and rewarding place to travel. The country is brim-full of ancient historical and religious sites, impossible to believe geographic variation for such a tiny country, great food, generally fantastic weather, and an entrancing blend of cultures. Unfortunately it's a country in conflict, and the portrayal of this region on the news shocked a large amount of travelers away from this fascinating land. But armed with a little bit of information and basic care, traveling in Israel is really quite safe. From a geographic perspective, Israel is so different from region to region that it feels like several different states in one. The seaside plain which encompasses the cities of Tel- Aviv and Haifa features rolling sand dunes and palm trees, pretty beaches, and mild but really humid subtropical weather. It is a great area to soak up the sun, enjoy nightlife, and absorb the ambience of modern Israel's culture. Yafo is part |
